Hawke’s Bay Apple & Pear Pinot Gris

The Taste Collection is a celebration of the generous and distinct flavours that have made Selaks wines so extraordinary and sought after for more than 85 years.

VITICULTURE AND WINEMAKING
Despite challenging weather conditions in the Hawkes Bay early in the season, the 2023 fruit was harvested in great conditions.

On arrival from the Vineyards being destemmed, the fruit was crushed and gently pressed. Only the first juice from the press - the "free run" was used in this blend. Clarified juice was carefully fermented under controlled conditions, with the aim of maximizing primary fruit character. The young wine was immediately racked off fermentation lees at dryness, and prepared for bottling.

Aroma Selaks Taste Collection Apple and Pear Pinot Gris displays floral notes of rose water, melon and a hint of spice. Rich and textural on the palate with bursts of tropical fruits and nashi pearl and the elegant hints of floral. A soft, juicy pinot gris, with a mildly off dry finish.

Pairing Stunning with a rich and creamy Quiche Lorraine or a simply but buttery Apple Tarte Tatin.
